The January 2009 issue of Crown Jewels of the Wire features, as it's lead article (pp 11-17), a comprehensive chronology, compiled by Tom Nelson, of the Cadiz Glass Company, Cadiz, Ohio. Mr. Nelson's thorough research, drawn from local newspapers and other sources, provides details of the company from its inception in 1882 to until its apparent demise at a sheriff's sale in 1896 (by 1887 the name of the company had changed to Lythgoe Brothers). Mr. Nelson's article includes a view of the glass works' Great House, showing two furnaces, and a color illustration of an insulator shard dug at the site. The Cadiz Glass Company produced fruit jars and telephone insulators.
